Just yesterday (Sunday 17th June 2007) Kemble was thrilling crowds with awesome flying displays, but this could come to an end as a enforcement order could be placed on the airfield to stop illegal flying. Cotswold District Council says many aircraft using Kemble Airfield are unauthorised and its planning committee voted to clamp down. Lee Paulo, of Kemble Air Services, said they would seek compensation. Our existing rights of use are more than adequate and appropriate.
Kemble was opened in 1938, aircraft of all types have used the airfield. Activity is lower now than it was back in the airfields early years. This all started because of a family complaining about noise at the airfield. Noise abandment areas are in in place to keep noise over the villages to a minimal.
Please sign this petition to keep Kemble flying.
